The Importance of Compliance eLearning
Overview
Existing staff and new starters at regulated financial services firms need to be conscious of the importance of complying with laws and regulations in order to minimise the implications of inappropriate activities on their career, the firm and the firm’s stakeholders.
After completing this eLearning module, you will be aware of the importance of complying with applicable law, regulations, guidance and the values of the firm. You will appreciate what needs to be complied with and why.
The module provides a ‘big picture’ view of the requirements and the impact of a failure to comply on you, the firm and the firm's clients.
This training should result in a more positive view of compliance – rather than being seen as an annoying preventer of business, being seen as a vital input into good and continuing business creating and preserving a positive reputation, becoming a significant contributor to profitability and avoiding loss through poor repute, mistrust and regulatory penalties.
Implementing the course will also contribute to lowering the risk of regulatory breaches occurring, earlier recognition of breaches that may have occurred, more and faster reporting of concerns and improvements in organisational culture.
This module and the end assessment can be tailored to incorporate client-specific content.
Who is this for?
New starters at any level in a financial services entity. Existing staff, particularly recent starters, those with little background within financial services. Employees within support functions that have little direct involvement in the financial services activities at the firm.
The course avoids focussing on any one jurisdiction making it appropriate for multiple jurisdictions and staff dispersing to be based in different offices of a multinational firm.
